Call for Presentation Proposals

Camp Nurse Symposium, 28-29 March 2009
Pheasant Run Resort, St. Charles, IL

2009’s focus is the legal and ethical elements of camp nursing practice –  We’re especially interested in presentation proposals that present an element of this focus area.  For example: What are our ethical dilemmas and how does the camp nurse respond?  What strategies help a camp nurse proactively address potential legal pitfalls?  What are the legal pitfalls?!?  When the interests of a camper are at odds with the interests of camp, what does the camp nurse do?

Presentation proposals that address this year’s focus as well as the traditional areas of camp nursing, including clinical competencies.

We invite you to consider presenting.

Submit your Presentation Proposal online by filling out and submitting the form below.  If you prefer a paper copy of the proposal submission form, simply call the ACN office (218-586-2633); we’ll mail one to you.   Proposals submitted by 15 December will be notified of status by the end of December 2008.  Proposals are reviewed by ACN’s Education Committee and assessed on the topic’s application to camp nursing practice, its contribution to camp nursing knowledge, and its application to camp nurses from a variety of camp settings.   Selected speakers, upon completing their presentation, receive a year of ACN membership plus $50 off their Symposium registration.
