Lighting the Camp Nurse’s Path:
Focus on Clinical Care
About the Symposium
8:30 AM, MARCH 27 - 12 NOON, 28 MARCH 2010
-
Looking for a clinical practice update designed to meet the needs of today’s camp nurse? Want to talk over your questions with others and build your professional network? Perhaps you simply want to get ready for the upcoming camp season. The 2010 Symposium will focus on these topics and others. This Symposium will make a difference to your practice - be there!
- ACN’s Camp Nurse Symposium provides two days of focused learning and sharing. Participants expand their knowledge, participate in group discussions that move camp nursing practice forward, and leave with contact hours that meet national standards.
- Join camp nurse leaders and colleagues from the U.S. and Canada for the only educational event that promises to move your camp nursing practice forward! Experienced camp nurses will find the Symposium a great way to revitalize their practice. New camp nurses will discover a solid launch to their practice.
ABOUT THE PRE-SYMPOSIUM SEMINARS
8:30 - 5:00 PM, FRIDAY, 26 MARCH 2010
Arrive early to attend one of the in-depth, pre-Symposium seminars! These day-long events also provide contact hours and allow participants to deeply explore selected content areas.
Option A – Introduction to Camp Nursing Workshop -- Designed for nurses who are new (or newer!) to the camp world, this seminar provides an overview of camp nursing practice. It includes topics such as Opening Day screening, clinical topics, medication management, working with camp administration and camp parents, and Health Center organization. Facilitated by VJ Gibbins & ACN's Leadership Team.
Option B – Train the Trainer: How to Provide ACN’s Introduction to Camp Nursing Workshop in Your Area. Designed for experienced camp nurses who are ACN members, this workshop focuses on teaching you the skills needed to bring ACN’s Introduction to Camp Nursing Workshop to your geographic area. Content includes a copy of ACN’s newly developed curriculum, tips for presenters, and training in how to organize and oversee delivery of the course in your geographic area. Be one of ACN’s first trainers – help set another camp nursing milepost while meeting the needs of camp nurses around you! Facilitated by Linda Erceg, RN, MS, ACN’s Executive Director & ACN’s Leadership Team.
