ACN's 2014 Camp Nurse Symposium & Annual Meeting

Taking place in Orlando, FL, ACN's 2014 Annual Meeting and Camp Nurse Symposium is being planned for 4-6 February. Mark your calendar and watch this area for updates. As in previous years, ACN is planning to collaborate with ACA's national conference for a day, allowing participants to enjoy benefits of both events. More information will be posted as plans firm up — but save these dates!

Camp Nurse Workshops

The Nuts and Bolts of Camp Nursing Workshop

13 April 2013, 8:30 - 4:00 pm
National Louis University, Wheeling, IL

Hosted by ACN member Robin Bruscato, RN, MA, CSN, this one-day program is intended to provide information to facilitate the safe practice of nursing in a summer camp setting. $125.00 fee includes contact hours. Camp Nurse Workshop

11 May or 1 June 2013, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm
71 Baby Point Rd, Toronto, Ontario

Presented by ACN Board Member Cheryl Bernknopf, RN, BScN, topics include screening tips, documentation practices, medication management and Ontario legislative concerns. $150 tuition includes workbook, lunch and contact hours for nurses. WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF CAMP NURSING: Camp Nurse Workshop

Antiochian Village Camp, 201 St. Ignatius Trail, Bolivar, PA

Led by long-time camp nurses and ACN members Doris Nerderman, RN, and Patricia Gombita, RN, the one-day event includes topics such as camper screening, medication administration, documentation, first aid and common illnesses. $70 fee includes handouts, lunch, and contact hours (application in process for 7.5 hours). New England Camp Nurse Workshop

Celebrating its 10th anniversary and facilitated by experienced camp nurse VJ Gibbins, RN, BScN, MS, this full-day event prepares new camp nurses for their unique role and provides experienced camp nurses with the opportunity to network, share ideas and expand their skills/knowledge. $100 fee includes contact hours (application submitted), workbook, breakfast and lunch.
