“I love being a nurse, I love camp, and I love camp nursing. Being involved with ACN allows me to combine my love of each and to share my knowledge and experience with others while learning from them. I have lots of ‘unique’ camp nursing experience and believe that I benefit from networking with others who have similar and different experience. It is important to network and to make an impact in the organization as well as being impacted by it. I also believe that ACN is a ‘quiet’ organization that more people need to know about. As a board member, I will be advertising ACN wherever I go and whatever I do. I will be encouraging student involvement as well.”
Lisa helped develop the first camp in Mississippi for children with cancer. Her camp nursing efforts also included work with camp programs for kids with asthma and diabetes. She continues to provide health support for a Boy Scout camp and has inserted comment about camp nursing in her work as a nurse educator. Lisa has a growing list of activity within ACN that includes presenting at the Symposium.
